“When I think about the day ahead, I think about the potential for bettering myself and bettering everything around me. What a treasured gift, this thing called life.” ~ Lisa Desatnik

I have had the tremendous opportunity of working in the educational system for the past sixteen years, as a teacher/coach. Building connections, mentoring, and witnessing the growth and success of my students has been the most rewarding aspect of my educational career and, in return, led me to further pursue my passion in counseling. I attained a Masters of Art in Counseling degree through Wayland Baptist University. My internship experience includes San Antonio Independent School District, Comal County Adult Probation Day Treatment Program, and Christian Hope Resource Center. My future aspirations are to obtain my Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) licensure.

We all possess an innate desire to have “genuine human connection”. Therefore, my counseling approach begins with an authentic listening heart, as each client’s own unique experiences and struggles are explored, in a culture where safety and acceptance are fostered.  In taking this journey alongside my clients, sessions will include self-discovery, challenging the old, and creating the new. My desire is to see my clients live as holistically; healthy individuals, encompassing the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healthy living. Our efforts together will strive towards healing, growth, and renewed hope!
